YouTube - BP Gulf Oil Spill Leak Gusher 06-09-2010 03:46P BOP Subsea FlexJoint Cleaning BS Logo Removed

Came across this video on 9 June 2010. Why was there an urgent need to remove the company logo, when there were more urgent tasks like trying to stop the gushing oil? It must have been the world's most expensive cleaning job.

In this narrated clip the ROV (remotely operated vehicle) is using the wire brush hydraulic tool to believe it or not remove the company logo (Oil States International Inc.- FlexJoint) plastered on the side of a part at the top of the damaged BOP (blowout preventer).

Interesting video. Makes you wonder where the priority lies.

Interesting Question then and still relevant today. What was BP trying to hide?

Is this "erasing evidence" caught on video?

And you have this posted on BP official website?

http://www.bp.com/sectiongenericarticle800.do?categoryId=9036600&contentId=7067604

Each tool was specially engineered to be ROV-friendly so the robots could adequately grip every device. Subsea ‘toolboxes’ were installed, allowing each robot to pick up equipment in the area, maximising the time they could spend on the operations.

“In 5,000 feet of water, this saved us the time that it would have taken to get the ROVs back to the surface - you have to have the tools available there and then,” Lynch said.

“ROVs need very smart people to maintain them. They have a lot of electronics and hydraulics and fibre optics for the high-quality video,” Hughes said.

In a deepwater site like the Gulf of Mexico, it’s usual to find six ROVs and their operators working from three different vessels. A greater number would carry the risk of the ROV’s tethers, which can span 3,000 feet, becoming entangled. But through extensive storyboarding, where every operation was broken down to a sequence of minute movements, a record number of 14 ROVs worked simultaneously around the Macondo well site to complete operations as quickly - and as safely - as possible.

Lynch says, “To people watching the operation, it probably looked like chaos but every move had been well thought out. Nothing was left to chance, everything was designed for a reason and every movement mapped out in advance.”

Precisely......and yet we have idiotic and mundane tasks (like cleaning off the company logo off the BOP) taking priority over other more important tasks.

Did you get the Video Links I sent?

The one is where I believe it was the 26 or 27 of MAY (CNN) Footage. My back was killing me and my Daughter Gerberbaby wanted me to go to her graduation dance thingy but I elected to just stay home.

I was watching the CNN footage and it suddenly went cloudy. Was that way for about 4 hours. After all the sediment had settled you could see the Ocean Floor had sank about 20-25 feet. Guessing on depth but it had really dropped (a lot ) At the time there was some people in the MONTANA section of Yahoo Group that were also watching it.

They too commented about the floor sinking. and what now appeared to be ICE showing. One guy said it was probably frozen Methane. That is when one user said "What are you "Idiot's" Looking at? All I see is a thick black stream of OIL coming from the Well. One of the users said, What site are you on??? The BP Site. Oh, We are watching the CNN Live Site.

That is where we could see Ells and other Fish swim through this cloud of white stuff which we thought was the Oil. But finding the BP site we saw the THICK BLACK OIL.

This was the Other Well that Matthew Simmons must have been talking about? Yet I still think he said there was yet maybe a 3rd well in the area. Or that is the impression I was left with.

I am still trying to figure out why CNN ran that as the WELL Footage when BP had the Other Footage? This is why is seems like something was being HID and CNN knew it or had complacency in hiding it.

What you think Mr. Lim?

thanks MWM. This is the first time I am seeing some of the videos and comments. It is shocking to say the least. They were not all exactly right but their questions and observations were spot on some key points. They did not have the whole framework to take it further. So I guess there would be a lot more work to tie all these together to separate the myths from the facts. For example Ryan says:

I work for an oil company and was explained the pipe pieces were actually cut by the BOP. That the BOP didn't fail, but it worked twice like it was designed. That the operator must have paniced after the BOP closed and gas continued to spew becuase the gas was expanding in the 5000 ft. The operator must have reset the BOP twice thinking it didn't work. When he reset it, it opened, and the cut riser slid down the BOP and was cut again. The third attempt failed becuase it is not designed to cut two pieces side by side or a 1 ft section horizontal and a riser vertical. If the operator would have not reset, the well would have been closed and gas would have stopped within minutes, instead of months.

Inappropriate? Alert us.

"Allen said the pipes are where they're at as a result of steps BP took in June to try to cut through a broken riser pipe on the site." How does sections of pipe fall into BOP when the oil is flowing out at 7000 psi?

Is the world ready for the truth? I could go thru the videos and have a voice over interpretation and analysis of the fake videos or unexplained observations like what you have described. It is a lot of work but if the column readers want it (please vote up this comment) then I supposed I could spend some time and effort on these video reinterpretation.

There was yet another video (I will try to locate it.) Where Matthew and that side-kick talk more about the 2 wells and it was just after the Ocean Vessel did the mapping of the oil "POND" on the bottom of the Gulf.

In that video I am more then sure I recall Matthew saying something to the effect of, "There is no way that much oil could come from from a single well and he quoted BP'S own spill figures compared to the side-scan radar and Depth and or thickness and again said there had to be yet another well.

I do think this IS more likely because when the said the Well had 100,000 PSI and that they could do nothing until the pressure dropped to where something could be installed as no one had anything that would hold 100,000 psi and that is why not attempt was made to kill the well(s) till that happened.

Somewhere in that time frame I assume the pressure did release and is where the Sea floor was seen to have collapsed down. Then Matthew talked about a HUGE METHANE Bubble that covered a very large area. That is probably where the stories gave rise to a Tsunami that would be caused when that gas bubble would "pop".

I don't think it is over in the Gulf. You would "THINK" BP would make available any ROV images/videos of the complete areas including where the lake of oil was and not just show a few dead crabs and fish but do it in a grid by grid and map the sea floor. WHY? To see what additional damage are issues and asses them for a risk factor.

Have a good Day

Yes I remember the oil pond video. Saw it briefly also. It would be good to narrate over it with the correct interpretation.

They would not do anything on the 3rd well because the well head was blown and until the pressure had dropped. But Matt did not realise that well B was the 2nd well drilled.

Nearly one year later, are there any other connections to operations failure or responsibility on the part of Oil States Intl? It seems such an over-reactive move to erase the logo just to remove "bad advertising". Equipment purchases can be verified so it wouldn't be to hide their product from ever having been used. What other connection might have been at play?

My next posting will show photo evidence that the BOP retrieved on early Sept and the subject of intense examination and forensic analysis, is not the BOP used when drilling the blown out well on 20 Apr 2010. They switched the BOP in June 2010. And the world fell for it.

Been here since the beginning (have family in the gulf), just haven't been around much due to moving. Is annoying that so many people are not paying attention, or just don't seem to care because apathy or they don't seem to think it will effect them directly.
