NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A BP engineer intentionally deleted more than 300 text messages that said the company's efforts to control the Gulf of Mexico oil spill were failing, and that the amount of oil leaking was far more than what the company reported, the Justice Department said Tuesday.
In the first criminal charges related to the deadly explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig in April 2010, the Justice Department arrested Kurt Mix and charged him with two counts of obstruction of justice for allegedly destroying evidence sought by federal authorities, officials announced in a statement.

If it takes 2 years just to nail a BP engineer on deleted text messages how long is it going to take to charge the real crooks? What about BP lying that the main leak (leak#2) was the crater formed by the leaking end of the 460 ft riser?
Does the photo evidence tells us anything at all? Hey, we are the ones living on the other side of the world. Isn't anyone in the Gulf or America interested in the truth and to know what is causing the environmental damage? The Gulf is still leaking oil and it ain't the "natural oil seeps" that the marine wildlife are dying from. The marine life had been living with natural seeps before BP started drilling at the Macondo prospect.
There is none so blind as one who will not see.
