The official BP story of the Gulf Oilspill Disaster (dubbed BPGOD) is one incredible fairy tale that would not pass simple logic tests.
Why would BP rush to drill a costly exploratory well (costing 3 x the normal expensive cost of $30 million/well) that was known to be a gas field (Rigel gas field confirmed by Texaco in 1999) with only a "puny" 50 million barrels of reserve when the cost of production ($70-90/bbl) far exceeded prevailing crude oil prices of $30-40/bbl?
Contrary to most spins by the MSM, the ill-fated Macondo exploratory well was not the first deep water well drilled by BP in the Gulf. BP started drilling deep water exploratory wells since 1998 with the MadDog prospect (450 million barrels of reserves estimated) and had been drilling tens of deep water wells in far more dangerous and deeper water than the ill-fated Macondo well like Atlantis, Thunderhorse, Tiber & Kaskida. Notice that all of them have oil reserves from 450 million barrels to over 3 billion barrels. Macondo was the only one with a puny reserve of 50 million barrels .....just too small for economic production.
The Macondo well was in reality a "sacrificial lamb" in the planned genocide and mass evacuation of the Gulf region. Flooding the Gulf with oil was just the excuse to spray massive amount of Corexit and to incubate the genetically modified bacteria on a massive scale. BP turned the Gulf into a giant lab pool and the Gulf residents were (and still are) the guinea pigs in a top-secret military bioweapon programme as correctly analysed and bravely spoken out by Michael Edwards in his publications and radiotalk shows. Most exploratory wells are abandoned at shallow depths to shift to safe location when the problems exceeded 50% of the budgeted costs. This was after all just an exploratory well with no new 3D seismic exploration and high resolution geohazards survey to pinpoint specific targets.
You would drive through dangerous blizzards to spend Christmas eve with your loved ones (akin to production or appraisal wells wth specific objectives) but would you risk your life to go out in a hurricane just to hang out dangerously (akin to an exploratory well)? You would if you have a death wish just like BP had a slow kill genocide in mind. BP could drill deep water exploratory wells safely when they choose to. BP was not a bumbling idiot corporation as MSM were paid to project. In 2009 alone, BP applied for and drilled 6 exploratory safely and successfully at about the same period the ill-fated Macondo well was destined to blow in 2009. These facts confirm that BP could drill safely if they wanted to.
